A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Centre Of Gravity on friday and made it an incredible night for all!

Spiral Beach is jumping onboard The FLICK OFF Express, which will travel by train to four cities across Ontario with a group of environmental experts, students and other bands to demonstrate just how much Canadians care for the future of the planet.

We've just been informed that Spiral Beach will be opening the main stage at the second day of V Fest! Yes! 2:30 PM at Toronto Island Park on September 7 - BE THERE!

We also got some great new about the video for "Made Of Stone". It will be featured in the first episode of a new animated TV show called "Life's A Zoo", airing on Teletoon Detour (home to the Adult Swim cartoons) on September 1 at 11 PM. Check out their website here.

"It's a reality show parody that sees Morreski the drunken bear, Jake the perverted pig and five other contestants battle it out for their 15 minutes of fame in an old mansion in Saskatchewan, filmed entirely using old-skool stop-motion animation!"

Some exciting news for fans and friends of Spiral Beach - we're releasing a disc of new recordings (unofficially titled the Bonus! EP) on August 5th - and we're holding a contest for anyone who's interested to create the artwork!

The disc will be only be in stores attached to copies of "BALL", but the artwork you create will appear online as a downloadable CD sleeve - and we'll make sure to send you some physical copies as well as a few T-shirts with your design printed on them.

To submit artwork (collage, drawing, painting, photograph, computer-generated image - whatever!) just upload a JPEG to the Flickr group. Click here to access it. If you don't have a Flickr account, it's free to join, but you can also send the images to our Facebook, Myspace or email us.

Hello everyone

We are playing at some amazing festivals this summer - check it out!

HILLSIDE FESTIVAL - JULY 25-27 in Guelph, Ontario
We've been going to this one for years (washing dishes when we're not playing) and it's pretty much as perfect as they come. Our main set is on the Island stage on Saturday night, and we're also in a workshop that morning with our good friends The Magic! Unfortunately all the passes for saturday are sold out, but if you've already got one, you know where to find us! More Info: Hillside Festival

SUNCRASH FESTIVAL - AUGUST 2 in Orillia, Ontario
A few friends of ours have put together this amazing new festival located on the Moreland Family Farm near Orillia - it's a one day camp-over extravaganza that is gonna blow people's minds! We're playing at 10:30 (followed by the Golden Dogs), this is show you do not want to miss!

OTTAWA FOLK FESTIVAL - August 14-17 in Ottawa, Ontario
We'll be in a workshop on Saturday, as well as playing our main set on the indoor stage Sunday night. Tickets are available from the festival office for $20-$50, you can see the full lineup at Ottawa Folk Festival website.

We'll also be playing live on CIUT on the morning of July 24 to promote the Suncrash Festival - tune in at 11:00 to hear the show!

We’ve just created a Facebook Group for fans and friends of Spiral Beach overseas. The purpose of this group is to plan a party to celebrate the band’s return to the UK - we want YOU to be involved helping us work out how, when and where this event will happen!

If you don’t have Facebook, we will try to keep you up-to-date through Myspace on all the happenings related to the band - right now we’re featuring an online comic series by Maddy that will be updated every week, as well as the live video for “Voodoo” that can be seen here.

We are playing several "Street Shows" to raise money for our recent fine for postering. We'll be setting up on the sidewalks of Toronto for an hour this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as holding a show on June 20th at the Whippersnapper Gallery. Please come and say hi.

On Friday June 6, come meet us from 6-7pm outside of the ROM. Saturday from 6-7pm will be near Futures Bakery on Bloor Street and Sunday from 1-2pm we'll be on Augusta St near Nassau on Kensington Market (possibly around Supermarket). All donations will be gladly accepted.

Well, some bad news. . . we've been fined $1470 for illegal postering for our show at the Opera House. . . below is a scan of the offending image (drawn by our very own Maddy Wilde) which defaced eight privately-owned EcoMedia recycling bins across Toronto.

As as fundraiser we're gonna play a "Street Show" in Kensington Market this Sunday June 8 at around noon - feel free to come down and jam a few tunes or just hang out. . . all donations will be gladly accepted.

We'll have an announcement very soon for a proper fundraiser show soon, so keep your ears open!

On May 10 we'll be featured on King Kaboom, a new vaudeville-inspired variety TV show created by Kevin Parnell (of Wavelength fame), performing a few songs alongside comedy sketches, stream-of-conciousness rants, and other musical guests including Laura Barrett. The show is on every Saturday night at 11:00, so tune in!

Here's a list of where you can find the show: Standard Definition broadcast: Channel 52 without cable, Channel 15 on Rogers, Channel 213 on ExpressVu. High Definition broadcast: Channel 66 without cable, Channels 512 and 143 on Rogers. Let everyone know!

On May 17 we're turning the Opera House into a giant underground dream circus, featuring electro insanity from Toronto's Opopo, scatterbrained soundscapes from freestyle-scratch wizards Insideamind, and a mind-bending assortment of video installations and balloon sculptures.

On the day of the show, re-recorded versions of "Kind Of Beast" and "New Clouds" will be made available online for purchase and download, so check them out! The show is All Ages, with the balcony reserved for those with ID. Doors are at 8pm, Opopo at 9pm, Insideamind at 10pm, Spiral Beach at 11pm. Airport makes me dizzy, plane makes me nauseous. Sleeping pills help to relax, speedometer makes me cautious. Alcohol is cheap on flight, in-air movie causes fight, Lou Reed makes it aallllright.

Landing on a train, fuzzy buzzy brain, big crane, Mark Twain.

In the back of truck, no luck, no windows, big bucks. Checked baggage OK, sting ray, driver say, where play? Arrive at EMI, small fry, words fly, Voodoo single in june, ideas balloon.

Francisco's flat, they call it that, England's dreaming, we are scheming, careening, drop the baggage, savage, Sainsbury's down the street to shop and save on salty sweets, bread and cheese, sandwich meat and Carling, please. Expensive heat. Then to the tube, we swifly move, and faster than a horses hooves, downtown, look round, $2.15 to the pound.

For ULU we go by shoe, the Ting Tings are the reason to. The concert flat, jetlagged at that, we reason out our journey back. London young and fashioniste, colours make a neon feast. After midnight, we decease.

In the morn, my shock and scorn, we have not done as we were warned. Electricity, by law's decree, is different once you cross the sea. Our converters have no use, they simply do not have the juice. And so, without the know, Airick's SPX-90 we explode. (In Ewan's basement we will smash, on Youtube we will post the trash)

So to rentals we seek, they freak, then we're off to play Ginglik, now we've found, the club is underground, beneath the green at Shepard's Bush I mean. Still running on empty steam, Indian resto won't serve our team, hamburgers beam.

On December 1st, we're holding a massive all night party at The Centre of Gravity Theatre in Toronto, featuring the finest musical acts from Toronto and abroad, as well as a full-on extravaganza of video projections, gravity-defying circus acts and glow-in-the-dark visuals. Doors open at 7:00. Download the flyer and pass it around to your friends.

You're welcome to bring tents, sleeping bags and pillows and camp out on the floor with us! A pancake breakfast will be served in the morning. Tickets for this event are $8.00 in advance from Rotate This and Soundscapes (onsale next week) or $10.00 at the door. And yes, it is definitely ALL AGES.
